For those of you still in college or attending graduate school on the side (like me), its that time of year to shell out ridiculous amounts of money for textbooks you probably will only open once or twice. College bookstore prices are usually pretty steep, so buying your textbooks elsewhere is a wise move. The earlier you find out what textbooks you need, the better deals you can get. Email your professor ahead of time, and see if they can give you a list of required texts. Also, if possible, try to determine which textbooks are required and which are optional. If a textbook is used occasionally as an optional resource, a trip to the library once in a while will save you from having to buy the book.
If you must buy a textbook, try to buy it used. Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Half.com, Borders and Textbooks.com all have used books for sale. If you prefer to buy your books new, here are some current deals to consider:
- Borders: Save 20% off the list price of any one item. Coupon Code: BAF0131C
- Barnes and Noble: Save 10% off one item until 1/25/2009. Coupon Code: Y7Y9H9T
